How to develop your Cigna International plan
It’s easy to develop a comprehensive, tailored plan with Cigna Global.
First, applicants choose from a Silver, Gold, or Platinum program level. The Cigna Silver plan has a benefit limit of $1,000,000, the Gold plan has a benefit limit of $2,000,000 and the Platinum has an unlimited benefit limit.
They then choose their coverage location, worldwide coverage including the U.S. or coverage excluding the U.S. Members excluding the U.S. can still receive limited emergency hospital benefits if an accident occurs while they are briefly visiting the country.
Next, they select any optional add-on modules they would like to add to their plan, such as International Clinic, Health and Wellbeing and Vision and Dentistry. Each module has deductible options and maximum benefits.
Applicants can tailor their premiums to fit their budget through a variety of deductible and coinsurance options. Choosing a higher deductible and coinsurance option will lower the premium amount, but the out-of-pocket costs will be higher until the deductible and/or coinsurance are met.
Finally, applicants choose whether they would like to pay premiums monthly, quarterly or annually. Cigna accepts payment by credit card and debit card, or bank wire if paid annually. Customers who pay quarterly or annually have lower premiums than customers who pay monthly.
Cigna Global Health Insurance Plan Rates
Cigna Global determines its premium rates based on a number of factors, including the plan level you choose. Cigna offers three main plan levels called Silver, Gold, and Platinum, with each level increasing in cost and coverage. In addition to tier selection, the cost of a plan depends on the coverage you choose and your age.
You can manage your premium rates by choosing deductibles or cost-sharing options, which will lower your monthly or annual costs. Deductibles and cost-sharing options are recommended for individuals and families looking to save more money each month. But be aware that while your premiums will be lower, your out-of-pocket costs will be higher.
Finally, if you choose to add outpatient care and other optional modules to make your Cigna International Health Plan more comprehensive, this will increase your premiums and the cost of covered care.
